Where we came from...
After performance interaction with audience
The Mighty Black Angels have performed at a broad cross section of events, at cultural festivals, official government functions, in theatre shows, at shopping centres, 5 star hotels, peace training workshops, product launches, corporate events, tv commercials and international sport tournaments.
However, their lives weren't always so glamorous.
The Mighty Black Angels started with humble beginnings in a social hall in the coastal town, Tiwi Mkoyo, near Mombasa, Kenya. They trained in the hall and on the beach learning Kenyan pyramid building, acrobatics, limbo bar of fire dance, rope skipping and African Dance. Within a year they found themselves in high demand performing for international guests at resorts and hotels in and around Mombasa.
They felt their destiny had something greater install for them, so they boarded the bus to Kenya's capital, Nairobi, for further training and development. In Nairobi they were quickly snapped up by The Sarakasi Trust, Kenya's leading circus and dance company, to learn more and perform. Four years on, The Mighty Black Angels are Sarakasi's flagship acrobatic troupe performing in the Umoja cultural flying carpet festival in Uganda. Many of the members have also taken on assistant trainer and trainer positions, to help teach the younger acrobats who come through Sarakasi's doors, as well as students in International Schools in Nairobi.

The years of hard work have paid off. The Mighty Black Angels toured to Bahrain in 2012 & 13 to perform at the Bahrain International Grand Prix. They have also toured extensively in Kenya. Recently they performed and hosted workshops in Eldoret, 325kms from Nairobi, to promote peace and working together amongst different tribes in Kenya, similar to their 2012 peace performance in Laikipia, Kenya. In Nairobi the Mighty Black Angels have performed at the State House, UN headquarters, the International School Kenya, the Braeburn School and The German School. They have also performed in many Sarakasi circus and dance shows, at shopping centres and the Sankara 5 star hotel.
The Mighty Black Angels enjoy performing and all things circus. In the past two years they have expanded their skill set to include the aerial arts in their repertoire, having performed trapeze, rope and aerial silk in various theatres around Nairobi. The Mighty Black Angels continue to sharpen their skills and perfect their art. They enjoy performing to audiences of all different ages and nationalities, and continue to inspire young old through performances and workshops.
